2025 Table Tennis May-June League Finals Recap: Meet the New Champions!

The concluding week of the Spring Ping Pong league, held today, Saturday, June 21, 2025, was filled with excitement and great matches across all divisions. Over 30 players participated in the singles competition over a span of 6 weeks in the Seniors and Open Divisions.
Here is a summary of the final matches and highlights of the finals. Let's get started!
Seniors Division:
For the finals in the Seniors Open Division, players played in a double elimination format to decide the champion of the Ping Pong League. All players showcased their exceptional skills, delivering powerful shots and impressive defensive & offensive moves.
In the Seniors Open Division, Lance Rosemore ultimately claimed the top spot as the GOAT - he went undefeated for the whole season. Randy Moore secured 2nd place, John Wood finished in 3rd, and Paul Baker took the 4th position.
In Division B, Miki Snell secured 1st place, and Forrest Michals came in 2nd place.
Open Division:
In the Open Division, Ley Mech repeated as the league champion in the Open Division, with Mark Chen coming in 2nd, Henry Castillo in 3rd, and Hui Chi (Rick) in 4th place.
Division B saw Jonathan Kim take the top spot, with Sajan Dhakal coming in 2nd. Layton Dai secured 3rd place, while Manasi Nimkar claimed 4th place.
Youth Division:
In the Youth Open Division, Darwin Mech claimed the top position finishing 1st, with Sreekar Mali taking 2nd place.
Most Improved Player: Mary Parakal
All players demonstrated significant improvement week after week as the result of their participation in the league.
After observing all the matches and players during the 6-week league competition, Pong On Wheels decided to award Mary the title of "Most Improved Player - M.I.P." for the 2025 May-June Ping Pong League. This special recognition emphasized Mary as the most outstanding and improved player among all the participants. Congratulations, Mary!
"The Pong On Wheels ping pong league in North Texas welcomes players of all ages and skill levels, providing an enjoyable, fun, and competitive environment. It has become extremely popular, with players showing significant improvement after six weeks of competition. The outstanding sportsmanship and camaraderie in the recent 2025 May-June Ping Pong League were incredible," noted Daniel Rutenberg of Pong On Wheels.

This was a friendly, recreational, non-sanctioned table tennis event, where all ages, abilities and skilled players were welcomed to participate!
